About the Role
COUNTRY Financial is seeking Software Developer interns to be part of the team delivering technical working solutions. These positions will be in our DigitaLab at the University of Illinois Research Park in Champaign, IL. As a Software Developer intern, you will be working with business partners, designers, and COUNTRY Technology to develop and test products and processes used by our COUNTRY Financial clients, reps and employees.

Responsibilities
- Deep dive into research of new and emerging technologies (i.e. Generative AI)
- Develop software applications that are high performing and meet technical standards
- Create a variety of technical solutions by selecting the appropriate technology, leveraging defined technology standards and knowledge of multiple programming tools and techniques
- Design solutions after gathering business and technical requirements
- Support the development of test cases, execution and related problem solving during all phases of project testing in alignment with overall test plans
- Participate in testing emerging technologies in Research and Innovation projects
- Collaborate with Data Science and UI/UX DigitaLab interns on cross-functional teams
- Participate in Agile Release Trains
Requirements
- Must be actively pursuing a college degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for the duration of the internship
- Strong collaboration, written and oral communication skills
- Takes initiative with leadership capabilities
- Excellent team player
- Experience working with some of the following languages:
Spring / SpringBoot
Angular, Ionic, Node, React
Java, JavaScript, JSON, .Net
Python, R
- A working knowledge of the following is preferred:
Cloud Platforms – Microsoft Azure
Version Control tooling (Git, SVN)
Test Automation
Mobile App Development
Web App Development
Agile development process
Deployment methodologies and tooling, including DevOps for CI/CD
