The internal team at Research Park includes a small team of interns that manage communication, marketing, promotion, event planning, recruitment, and more for the Research Park as a University unit and as a whole.
About the Role
The data entry and analysis intern will support the organization’s data operations by assisting with data cleaning, validation, and basic analysis across multiple platforms. This role is for those seeking hands-on experience in data management and analytics. This intern will work closely with staff and leadership to ensure data accuracy, reporting needs are met, and special projects are completed. This position is a full-time in-person internship for Summer 2026, which the opportunity to continue part-time during Fall 2026.
Responsibilities
- Assist in cleaning and validating data, including identifying inconsistencies, errors, missing values, duplicates, etc.
- Maintain data across multiple platforms ensuring accuracy throughout
- Support basic data analysis tasks; summarizing data, identifying trends, creating graphs and charts• Help document data management procedures and workflows
- Special projects for the Director of Entrepreneurship, Marketing & Communications Specialist, and Talent Manager
- Other duties as assigned
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to clearly & consistently communicate with management on project status
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with data collection and cleaning
- Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
Preferred Qualifications:.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI a plus
- Experience with Salesforce or CRMs a plus
- Desire to work in an exciting “everyone helps” team environment
Requirements
- Graduation date of May 2027 or later
- Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Data Science, Information Science, Business or similar field; other degrees will be considered if relevant experience is demonstrated on resume.
- Must be a full-time enrolled student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign at the time of employment
- Must be available to work full time Summer 2026 as a full-time internship and work part time 10-20 hours/week during Fall 2026
Compensation:
- Hourly wage will be $15 per hour based on experience and will be paid by the University of Illinois
- Pending successful performance reviews, the internship can continue through multiple semesters and there is opportunity to be promoted into a leadership role
