The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

As a Part-Time Student Accounting Solutions for JD Finance located in Champaign, IL, you will:

• Lead and/or support key data and analytics projects for the Accounting & Finance function.
• Utilize analytics techniques to clean, preprocess, explore, and analyze data sets and extract actionable insights including providing visuals for end users.
• Collaborate in a fun, friendly, and fast-paced team environment with key stakeholders to deliver data-driven financial solutions for the business.
• Implement new processes or visualizations for end users, including the proper training and documentation required for user acceptance.

Requirements

• Experience with Python and SQL programming languages.
• School and/or work experience analyzing text and/or numerical data.
• Experience with applied statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and financial modeling.
• Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly during the business hours of 6 AM to 6 PM.
• Opportunity to expand to 30-40 hours during the summer semester.
• Must be able to commute to the John Offices in Champaign, IL at least once a week, on a regular basis year-round.
• Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in an analytical discipline including but not limited to Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
• Must be registered as a full-time student.
• Graduation date of Spring of 2026 or later.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

What makes you standout

• Pursuing a Masters or PhD Degree.
• Experience using PySpark for distributed data processing and analysis.
• Exposure to data engineering principles and practices, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of AI concepts, LLMs and Foundational Models.
• Experience working with the Databricks platform, including notebooks, clusters, and Delta Lake.
